Ethos

Roots' aim is to provide a solid foundation to allow clients to live full and meaningful lives. I believe in a grassroots ethos in which each person is treated as the individual they are, rather than just another number, diagnosis or money making contract.

Too often large private care companies are overly focused on profiteering and gaining as large a client base as possible, rather than focusing on providing a sufficient service in which each person feels heard and valued as a human being.

From personal experience working in a variety of roles in the sector I found that all too often companies market themselves as “person-centred” when in reality a “one size fits all” approach is often applied.

My pledge is for Roots to provide truly individualised, unrushed and consistent care & support. To work in collaboration with clients to develop a personalised support plan, with call times that work in line with their needs. I strongly feel people should be able to plan care to fit around their lives, and not for the lives to have to fit around their care.
